Great Britain rider Victoria Williamson stable after serious crash in Rotterdam


Great Britain Cycling Team rider Victoria Williamson is in a stable condition in a Dutch hospital after she was involved in a serious crash at the Rotterdam Six-Day event on Saturday night.
The 22-year-old, who claimed a team sprint bronze medal with Becky James at the 2013 World Championships in Minsk, fractured her pelvis and several vertebrae in the crash and also sustained a cut down her right side following a collision with Netherlands rider Elis Ligtlee.
Williamson has undergone surgery and has had MRI scans. She will remain in hospital in Rotterdam for the next few days while doctors assess her condition.
